Antimony in the semiconductor supply chain

Antimony is a semiconductor-critical mineral. In USGS data for 2024, China was the largest producer at 60,000 t (~60%; banned all antimony exports to U.S. Dec 2024) of a world total of 100,000 metric tons (mine production, antimony content, 2024); the next producers were Tajikistan, Russia and Burma (Myanmar). US net import reliance is 85%.

Why it matters downstream

Antimony sits at the top of the value chain. Materials suppliers consume it first, and every fab, packaging house and device maker below them depends on that supply holding. A producer holding most of world output is the same single-source shape wafergraph flags at the company level.
