Privacy

wafergraph has no user accounts, no logins, and sets no advertising cookies. The Site is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request metadata (such as IP address) to deliver and protect the Site; privacy-preserving aggregate analytics may be used to count visits. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for its processing. On offer pages (Pro, the flagship report), we also record anonymous, cookieless counts of page views and button clicks — no IP address, cookie, or other personal identifier is stored, only an event name and timestamp — to gauge interest in what to build next.

Separately, we keep a first-party visit log so we can see how the Site is actually used. It records the pages you view, in order, together with in-page activity: which tabs you open, which buttons and links you click, what you type into the company search, which filters and comparisons you build, roughly how long each page is visible, how far down it you scroll, and which parts of a page actually came into view on your screen. These are stored against a random session identifier held in your browser's sessionStorage — not a cookie, and discarded when you close the tab — alongside the IP address, approximate location (country, region, city), timezone and browser user-agent that Cloudflare provides with the request. That means this log is not anonymous while the session lasts. It is first-party: it is never sold, shared, or sent to an advertising network, and it is used only to decide what to improve. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, text you have typed is not recorded at all. We never record what you enter into the contact form or the newsletter box.

We also keep a second random identifier in your browser's localStorage, which — unlike the session identifier above — survives closing the tab. It exists so we can tell a first-time reader from someone coming back for the fifth time, and it records only how many times you have visited and the date of your first visit. It is not a cookie, it is readable only on wafergraph.com, it is never sent to anyone else, and it holds no name, email address or anything you have typed. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal we never create it at all, so you are counted as a visit and never recognised as a returning one. Clearing site data in your browser erases it permanently.

The only personal information we collect is an email address, and only if you voluntarily subscribe to the weekly newsletter. Subscribing takes effect immediately — no confirmation email required. Your email is used solely to send the weekly semiconductor briefing, is stored securely in Cloudflare KV, and is never sold or shared. Unsubscribe anytime via the link in any issue.
